We’re getting ready to head back to school, but are you ready to begin help the littlest hands start learning and exploring? Are you wondering what should be taught at home or in the classroom to toddlers? Are you wondering what curriculum might be right for ages 2-3? Or are you simply wondering what should I be teaching to a toddler? Today I am sharing about my toddler curriculum for ages 2-3 and why it’s perfect for the youngest students and can be done at home or in the classroom.
Book Based Toddler Curriculum for Ages 2-3
Children ages 2-3 are truly at a magical time in their lives. They have begun to really discover their surroundings, their voice, and soak up everything they learn. That is why this toddler curriculum for ages 2-3 is book based. Children learn the most from reading! Each of the 40 packets is focused on a well love child’s book, including, “The Napping House,” “Harry the Dirty Dog,” “The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear,” and SOOO much more.
After reading the story your child or student will begin practicing very beginning level school skills. Some, they may be able to do on their own. Some, may require help. When I do this with my 3 year old, I always show him how I would do a page and then allow him to do it on his own.
The first time he tried any of the cutting pages, he simply cut the page into pieces. And guess what, that’s okay! This toddler curriculum for 2-3 year olds is meant to be at their level. Now that we have been doing this for a year, he has a better grasp on how to hold scissors and where to cut when needed. We don’t expect perfection, I just want learning to take place!
