Preschool at Home Easter Ideas

April 7, 2020

Most of us are finding ourselves at home this Easter season. For our preschoolers, this means missed Easter egg hunts, Easter art projects, and Easter fun at school. But, that doesn’t mean that the fun has to stop. Keep reading to find some easy and fun preschool at home Easter ideas!

Easter Egg Shape Matching Game

This game is as simple and effective as it gets. I have found that most plastic Easter eggs can be somewhat difficult for little hands to snap together. But, stacking them is just as fun and doesn’t bring frustrations! Take plastic Easter eggs and draw matching shapes on the pieces. Pull out one egg at a time, find another half that matches it, and stack them together. Add more and more eggs so the tower can be stacked higher and higher! Easy and fun preschool at home easter idea!

Easter Sensory Bin

Easter sensory bins are so simple and so fun! Simply put plastic eggs together and fill a bowl. You can put letters inside of the eggs to be opened, identified, and matched. You can put papers in with the eggs, like pictured above, to be pulled out and learned from. The more you can dig, the more fun you can have! Here, I used pictures of uppercase and lowercase letters. We pulled out one at a time, practiced the letters names, and matched them together. You can find the letter printables below.

Preschool at Home Easter Patterns

We had SO. MUCH. FUN. with this pattern game. We printed off the pattern sheet linked below. We practice each pattern and talked about all different types of patterns. Then, I simply handed my son a bowl of jelly beans. He got to create his own patterns and taught me how he made them. It was adorable to see how his little five year old mind worked making fun, silly and very logical patterns. If your child needs to work on patterns, this was a very simple preschool at home easter idea!

FREE Neighborhood Egg Hunt

My neighborhood, and many neighborhoods around the world are holding window Easter egg hunts during the next week. Simple print off an Easter egg, color it, and let children “hunt” for them as they go for walks. But, I wanted to add to the fun. I am going to hold a neighborhood egg hunt, where people can safely hunt from the sidewalk, for printable eggs around my house. I will hang the words on the garage with the clues. Then, hide the printable eggs around your yard. Hang one on the light of your garage. Hang one on your front porch. Hang one on your second story window. Let children in your neighborhood safely distance themselves yet still have so much fun hunting for a variety of eggs in your front yard!
