We’re kicking off some St. Patrick’s Day preschool fun at our house. Along with our St. Patrick’s Day book companions and themes, we did an easy and fun St. Patrick’s Day Preschool art project.
Supplies Needed
For this St. Patrick’s Day preschool art project you will need:
- Bendable Wire in a green color
- Small beads: in either green or a variety of colors
- Tin Foil
- Sharpies
- Hot Glue
How the Art Project is Made:
To make this St. Patrick’s Day preschool art project follow these steps:
- Connect 2-3 green wires to make a long straight wire
- Thread on beads. You can do as many as you choose. My 3 year old put on 5 or so, while my 5 year old filled the whole wire. It’s up to the artist!
- Mold the wire to make the shape of a shamrock.
- Use sharpies to color on tin foil. Either free draw, or draw squares and shapes to look like a stained glass window. Color in each shape with sharpie markers.
- Hot glue the wired shamrock on top of the tin foil. When dry, cut off the excess tin foil to finish up the project.
- See the video below for an example of how this was completed:
We decided to hang ours in our kitchen window. The bright sunshine reflected off the tinfoil and made such a fun vision in our window!
More St. Patrick’s Day Fun
To go along with our fun art project, we made this easy and fun St. Patrick’s Day Sensory Bin! I filled it full of rainbow color pom poms and the cutest rainbow erasers from Oriental Trading. They were only $4 and came with 300 erasers. I then cut out my uppercase and lowercase letter match. You can find it below. And, filled it full! We drew out the letters and matched the uppercase and lowercase letters together, talked about their names and sounds, and used the pom poms and erasers to create the letter shape. It was a super effective and fun sensory bin!
